| Description: | In recent years, foreign direct investment has received the interest of the various countries of the world being advanced or developing. Therefore, international competition has increased to attract foreign investment as a tool for achieving economic growth and financing investment projects; technology transfer and creating more employment and economic well-being by improving their investment climate, setting laws that encourage and guarantee its protection, and through pursuing integrated economic, financial and investment policies. ccordingly, this study aimed to clarify the various components of the investment climate in the Maghreb ountries (Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco), by evaluating the incentives and guarantees adopted by these countries in rder to upgrade their investment climate. This is to clarify as much facts as possible about the volume of foreign direct investment coming into these countries. This study found that the investment climate in the Maghreb countries weakly contributes in attracting foreign direct investment, as a result of the obstacles that prevent more flows of foreign direct investment, proved by the late status of Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco within the investment climate indicators. Despite the incentives and guarantees provided by these countries to attract more foreign direct investment and directing it towards the economic sectors to achieve the goals of economic and social development |
