Description: This study was based on the morphological characteristics and biological activities of branches and leaves of five varieties of caprifig tree Ficus carica L. found at the Abdelhafid Boussouf University Center – Mila. The study of the morphological characteristics based on quantitative and qualitative characters of the branches revealed significant polymorphism in terms of color, shape, length and width (terminal internode, medium internode, internode). basal node), number of internodes and number of leaves for each year. Phytochemical tests revealed the presence of flavonoids, tannins, steroids, polyphenol, glucosides, free quinones and anthocyanins, with the absence of anthraquinones, saponins, alkaloids and coumarins. The qualitative results of the polyphenolic compounds in the twigs revealed a good yield of polyphenols with a remarkable quantitative variability between samples. For the determination of total phenols, variety (C) gave the highest content (60.167±0.61 mg EAG/g). The in vitro evaluation of the antioxidant activity of our extracts using DPPH radical, showed that Ficus carica L. has a good antioxidant activity particularly for the extract (B) compared to other extracts. With a percentage of inhibition (31.67±0.86%) in the concentration 3mg /ml. The antibacterial activity of the extracts tested on the four Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial strains tested varies according to the strain tested and the nature of the extract used. The anticoagulant activity of fig polyphenol extracts was evaluated in vitro using the Quick time (QT) test. The coagulation times obtained on normal plasma in the presence of these polyphenols indicated that they exert a great anticoagulant activity on the exogenous pathway of coagulation. Variety (E) recorded the highest elongations of the five varieties.
