Abstract:	غایة هذه المذكرة د ا رسة أثر سیاق الكلام، وبخاصة في بعده الاجتماعي، في الت ا ركیب النحویة لدى سیبویه، مع إج ا رء د ا رسة مقارنة بینه وبین المناهج اللغویة الغربیة الحدیثة. فقد فطن سیبویه للطبیعة الاجتماعیة للغة، وأنها یجب ألا تدرس بمعزل عن سیاقها الاجتماعي، لذا شدد على دور المتكلم وقصده في تحدید العلامات الإع ا ربیة وغیرها من الظواهر اللغویة، كما أكثر على التأكید على عناصر سیاقیة أخرى منها: المخاطب، سیاق الموقف أو الحال المشاهدة كما یسمیها. وعند مقارنة منهج سیبویه التحلیلي بمنهج بعض اللغویین الغربیین المحدثین أمثال دي سوسیر، مالینوفسكي، وفیرث وقعنا على عدة قضایا مشتركة بین المنهجین تتصل بأهمیة الوقوف على الأبعاد الاجتماعیة للكلام، ودورها البارز في تحدید معاني العبا ا رت المنطوقة
Description:	This thesis aims to examine the impact of speech context, particularly in its social dimension, on grammatical structure according to Sībawayhi in his Al-Kitāb, with drawing a comparison between the latter’s method and that of the Arabic linguistic tradition, in addition to some of the modern linguistic approaches. Sībawayhi was perfectly conscious of the social nature of language, and realized that it should not be studied in isolation from its social context. Accordingly, he emphasized the role of the speaker and his intention in determining case endings and other syntactical phenomena. Other elements of context which he frequently highlighted include the addressee, and the context of situation. Upon comparing Sībawayhi's linguistic analysis with that of some western modern linguists, namely de Saussure, Malinowsky, and Firth one comes across a lot of common issues concerning the importance of the social dimensions of speech, since these play a significant role in determining the meaning of the utterances
