Abstract: | In light of the growing demand for poultry meat and the rising cost of feed due to heavy reliance on imported raw materials, this thesis explores the possibility of producing locally made poultry feed from oilseed pressing residues—specifically soybean, rapeseed (canola), and sesame seed cakes—which accumulate in significant quantities in oil factories and small-scale units without effective valorization. These residues were collected and subjected to physical, chemical, and microbiological analyses. The results were encouraging, confirming their nutritional value—particularly their protein content (ranging from 16% to 17%)—as well as the suitability of their pH and dry matter content according to poultry feed standards. After formulating a balanced feed mix that includes these materials, preliminary results showed that the produced feed can meet the nutritional needs of chickens while maintaining a good level of microbiological safety. This supports the potential adoption of this model for the production of sustainable, healthy, and economical local poultry feed, contributing to reduced production costs and improved self-sufficiency. |
