| dc.description.abstract | Malva sylvestris L., commonly known as "Khobiza", is a food and medicinal plant belonging to the Malvaceae family. To evaluate its antibacterial, antioxidant, and antifungal effects, an experimental study was conducted using the dried flowers of the plant. This study also aimed to investigate the phytochemical composition of extracts prepared using 70% methanol as a solvent. The contents of polyphenols, flavonoids, anthocyanins, and mucilages compounds known for their beneficial biological properties were determined. DPPH and ABTS assays were used to assess the antioxidant activity. The results demonstrated a strong radical scavenging capacity, particularly for the hydromethanolic extracts, indicating a high phenolic content. The antibacterial activity of Malva sylvestris L. flower extract was evaluated using the agar diffusion method. Activity was observed against several bacterial strains, with varying effectiveness. In the practical part of the study, a fungizol, a mouth freshener, and a 100% natural mouthwash were formulated using Malva sylvestris L. extract, enriched with a natural essential oil, a flavoring agent, and a natural preservative. The goal was to develop a soothing and preventive product against oral infections, while remaining gentle and free of side effects. In conclusion, this study highlights the therapeutic potential of Malva sylvestris L. and supports its incorporation into natural pharmaceutical formulations as a safe and effective alternative to conventional treatments. | en_US |

Pour évaluer les effets antibactériens, antioxydants, et antifongiques de Malva sylvestris L., une étude expérimentale a été réalisée sur les fleurs séchées de la plante. L’objectif de cette étude est également l’exploration des composés phytochimiques de l’extrait préparé à partir de la plante, en utilisant du méthanol à 70 % comme solvant. La teneur en polyphénols, flavonoïdes, anthocyanes et mucilages des composés connus pour leurs effets biologiques bénéfiques a été déterminée. Les méthodes DPPH et ABTS ont été utilisées pour évaluer l’activité antioxydante. Les résultats ont montré une capacité importante de piégeage des radicaux libres, en particulier pour l’éxtrait hydrométhanolique, indiquant une richesse en composés phénoliques. L’activité antibactérienne de l’extrait de fleurs de Malva sylvestris .L. a été évaluée par la méthode de diffusion en milieu solide. Cette activité a été observée sur plusieurs souches bactériennes, avec une efficacité variable. Dans la partie pratique, un fongizol, un rafraîchissant buccal et un bain de bouche 100 % naturel ont été formulés à base d’extrait de Malva sylvestris L., enrichis d’une huile essentielle naturelle, d’un arôme et d’un conservateur naturel. L’objectif est d’offrir un produit préventif et apaisant contre les infections buccales, tout en restant doux et sans effets secondaires. En conclusion, cette étude met en évidence le potentiel thérapeutique de Malva sylvestris L. et encourage son intégration dans les formulations pharmaceutiques naturelles, en tant qu’alternative efficace et sûre aux traitements conventionnels. | en_US |
