Abstract: This study aims to propose an innovative, sustainable, and environmentally friendly solution for the valorization of organic waste in Algeria. Through this research, we have developed and examined a natural organic fertilizer made from residues of vegetable oils (Pistacia lentiscus cake and olive pomace) combined with treated sewage sludge. Our objective was to transform these materials—traditionally considered as polluting waste—into a beneficial agricultural resource capable of improving soil structure, enriching organic matter content, providing essential nutrients to plants, and replacing mineral fertilizers. We conducted a physico-chemical characterization of the raw materials used in the product, in compliance with national and international standards (notably NF U44-095, ISO 19698 :2020, and Directive 86/278/EEC). The results revealed a good balance of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, along with promising biodegradability, making this compost suitable for safe agronomic use.Beyond the scientific aspect, this study also proposes a start-up economic model based on the circular economy, offering tangible prospects for local development, job creation, and the reduction of the environmental impact of organic waste.
