Abstract: This study aims to analyze the social representations and uses of artificial intelligence (AI) in the writing practices of third-year Information Science students at Constantine 3 University. Framed within the theoretical perspective of social representations (S. Moscovici, J.C. Abric), this research seeks, on the one hand, to examine how students construct their perception of artificial intelligence and how this perception influences their writing practices; and on the other hand, to explore the divergences between these student representations and those held by faculty members. Through a mixed-methods approach, combining a student questionnaire and semi-structured interviews with teachers, the study highlights a utilitarian and functional representation of AI among students, contrasting with a more critical and cautious stance observed among educators.
