Abstract: This study aims to highlight the effective role played by forensic medicine in proving criminal offenses in Algeria, especially in light of technological developments that criminals have exploited to obscure evidence. The study adopts a descriptive and analytical approach by presenting the theoretical framework of forensic medicine, its areas of intervention, and analyzing its role in uncovering various crimes such as murder, assault, poisoning, and sexual offenses. The findings reveal that forensic medicine is an effective tool in the service of justice, as it contributes to providing accurate scientific evidence that helps judges form their convictions. Medical expertise and judicial requisitions emerge as two key legal mechanisms for cooperation between the judiciary and forensic physicians. The study concludes that generalizing the use of forensic medicine and ensuring adequate training and resources enhance the effectiveness of investigations and safeguard individual rights.
