Abstract

This phenomenon aims to surround the phenomenon of deletion and its semantic dimensions in the Diwan of Abdel Malek Boumengel, rhetorically and grammatically, with a focus on its semantic dimensions and its role in enriching the poetic text. This study also reviews the purposes, types, causes, and conditions of ellipsis, and its relationship with some other linguistic concepts such as implication, brevity, and appreciation. As for the applied aspect, his study focused on extracting the deletions from the diwan of all kinds (deletion of the name, letter, verb and sentence), showing how deletion contributes to achieving a deep semantic dimension, reflecting sensations and feelings and highlighting the power of poetic expression, as well as the rhetorical role played by deletion in enhancing brevity and artistic aesthetics.
