Abstract

The research, entitled "Manifestations of Gender in Linda Kamel's Novel Before Death," examines the roblematic manifestation of gender images in feminist writing. It seeks to uncover various forms of gender conflict and consensus in the novel. The nature of the study necessitated presenting the research according to the following plan: a scientific introduction that includes the general framework of the research, three chapters, and a conclusion.The title of the first chapter, "Gender - A Reading of Concepts," focused on defining the concepts of the research topic: postmodernism, the feminist movement, and feminist writing as concepts that establish the intellectual aspect that contributed to the emergence of the gender problem and term.The second chapter, entitled "Images of Gender Conflict," highlighted the manifestations of specific conflicts (ideological, psychological, and creative), which in turn shaped the events of the novel, drawing on the psychological references of each character who played a role in shaping the gender conflict. The third chapter, "Forms of Gender Conformity," focused on extracting the ideological, psychological, and creative compatibility and agreement between the characters and the background references for each situation that shaped this image. All of these steps helped analyze the novel according to its events, without compromising any of its artistic aspects.In conclusion, we arrive at a set of findings, the most important of which are:• The postmodern period contributed to activating women's ideological presence at all levels.• Feminist literature is a revolution that destabilizes the fixed stereotypes established by men.• The differences between men and women are clearly embodied in the novel through manifestations of gender compatibility and conflict • The conflict between women and men is nothing more than a functional integration of life.
