Description: The study was carried out on five varieties of durum wheat Triticum durum Desf. In the laboratory of the Abdelhafid Boualsouf University Center in Mila, and in a greenhouse at Boygial, Minar Zarza, Wilaya of Mila. The varieties were imported from the Technical Institute of Large Agriculture (ITGC) in Constantine. The objective is to study the biological ramification and in order to follow the formation of tiller buds, as well as the effect of certain agricultural fertilizers on the production of these tillers. We carried out an anatomical study at the level of the embryo of the durum wheat seed and at the level of the tillering plate during the first vegetative phases. We made anatomical sections using the manual method and stained them with Carmino-vert in order to follow the formation of branched buds and we selected varieties with a high potential for formed buds. The results of the anatomical study at the level of the wheat embryo showed the appearance of the stem apical meristem (SAM) and the root apical meristem (RAM), and observation of a meristematic zones between the stem and the root in an active state during the imbibition phase can subsequently differentiate to form buds during the germination phase. The results at the tillering plate showed that there were variations and differences in the formation of tiller buds during the early stages of germination, at the first leaf stage (F1), where all varieties studied formed only one tiller bud (BT1). At the second leaf stage (F2), all the varieties studied formed only one bud (BT1). At the third leaf stage (F3), the Cirta variety presented the greatest number of buds (3BT). The results of the morphological study showed that tillering begins from the emergence of the fourth leaf in most varieties, but their number varies from one species to another, some of them are transforming into stalks with ears and other vegetative remains and then dies. The results of vegetative tiller production showed that the treatment with chemical fertilizer (U46°) was superior to most treatments for all durum wheat varieties studied, where the highest value was for the Ainlahma variety, estimated at 3.75. the production of ear tillers, the Wahbi variety having given the highest value of 1 ear tiller. Fertilizers have a positive effect on the plant. Especially nitrogen fertilizers like urea (N46°), because they affect morphological, physiological and biochemical parameters..
