Abstract

The underpinning purpose of this research is to analyze and evaluatethe degree of the non-hydrocarbon commodity exports impact on the performance of the balance of payments in Algeria from 2014 to 2019. During this period, the balance of payments was constantly in deficit. This deficit was caused by a decrease in the value of hydrocarbon exports that, in turn, affected the funds of the trade balance and thus the balance of the external current account in light of the payment balance rest components weakness, the most important of which are non-hydrocarbon commodity exports, which recorded very low levels throughout study period. There are many ways through which non-hydrocarbon commodity exports can be promoted. For instance, providing an investment, and promoting the exports of small and medium enterprises.
