Abstract

The study aimed to define the theoretical framework of the financial structure and financial profitability and highlight the relationship between these two variables by identifying the composition of the financial structure that differs from one institution to another and the determinants of financial profitability and how the financial structure affects the financial profitability of the economic institution. The applied study aimed to analyze the impact of the financial structure on financial profitability For the Electricity and Gas Distribution Corporation - Mila - for the period (2018-2021) and the variables that affect the financial profitability of the institution were identified, as the study concluded that there is a correlation between financial profitability and its determinants of economic profitability and borrowing, as well as the existence of an impact of the financial structure on the financial profitability of the economic institution .It also aimed to analyze the impact of the financial structure by presenting the financial statements of the institution under study and by studying and analyzing each of the financial structure, economic profitability and financial return to it. A conclusion was reached that each of the economic and financial returns during the study years was negative. We also noticed the negative effect of financial leverage throughout the years of the study, and then we came to the conclusion that the financial structure of the institution under study has a negative impact on the financial profitability of the institution.
