Abstract

The Algerian novel has got a high status in literature, especially in prose due to the unique characteristics and different artistic styles it has. one of the most characteristic is the literary image which has played an important role in narratives. This kind of techniques can help to add symbolic beauty and artistry. By examining the novel of " Belkis Late Night Crying" , we have discoverd that the novelist included different figures of speech such as Simile, Metaphore, Synecdoche...etc. Thus, the novelist has shown creativity, a great talent ,and ability of making use of various techniques brilliantly which made his novel a real masterpiece full of figures of speech that can attract the reader of his work
