| Description: | This research is about a very important literary theme; that is, the fantastic in a story. This study has focused on the using of fantastic in the cage story collection of Ibrahim Al-Kawni whereby we structured our research as following: the abstract, the introduction, the first and the second chapter and finally the conclusion. In the introduction, we have defined the concept of fantastic; we found that it is related to the moment of hesitation of the reader, in addition to the terms that are accompanied with it such as: (fabulous, weird, supernatural, exciting …), Whilst the first chapter gives us an idea about how the fantastic was like in the old tales which were transmitted to us verbally through legend and depends on folk tale; furthermore, it links it to religious and Sufism stories since they used to have fantastic aspects . Regarding the fantastic in the modern Arabic story, it has known a considerable progression due to the development of the logic realism; surrealism and the theater of absurd. We dedicated the second chapter to the practical study by which we found out the fantastic aspects in the writing of Ibrahim Al-Kawni depending on the co-use of both thethematic and the anthropological criticism; we finished our research with a conclusion that includes the majority of the results that we have gotten all along this study. |
