Abstract: Translation a basic means of communication has for long been disfavored in the teaching and learning of English, this issue has long been a question of great interest in a wide range of educational language fields. The aim of this research is to explore the view of EFL teachers and students at Abedelhafid Boussouf University center in regards of Translation feasibility, and usefulness in EFL teaching and learning. Questionnaires were conducted to identify the views of some teachers at various Algerian Universities, and third-year LMD students from Abedelhafid Bousouf University center on the use of translation as a tool for teaching English as a foreign language. The overall results of both questionnaires were positive for both teachers and students it showed clearly that translation is a privileged teaching tool.
