This study aimed to raise the curtain on a distinguished narrative experience by a contemporary Algerian writer who produced many narrative works, especially the last novel “Barefoot on Coals” which was the subject of the study. Based on the above, the research tried to investigate the structure of time in the novel Barefoot as it is a code that has not been studied before. For this reason, we chose a research plan consisting of an introduction that included an introduction to time, and mentioned the method used and some of those who preceded us in the study. Two chapters in the first chapter included concepts about the structure of time, types of time, and the most important techniques of time (paradoxes, permanence, frequency), and a second applied chapter in which we dealt with the techniques of time and their manifestations in the novel Barefoot. Finally, the study reached a thin line between what we studied in the first and second chapters, through the novel's inclusion of most of the techniques of time that we dealt with through the writer’s manipulation of time between the past, present and future, slowing it down and speeding up the narrationen_US
