Abstract: This research stems from the hypothesis of revealing the manifestations of history in some examples of novels chosen from ELHabib El Sayh’s novels. This is to stop at the problematic issue of the “historical visualizer” as it is a new term used in the modern critique studies. This research also tried to look for an answer to the difference between the historical visualiser and the historical novel as well as the differentiating line between the two. Under this research, we find the first chapter which involves a group of unites discussing the questions the historical visualiser asks in his novels especially his role in discovering the relationship between history and ideology. Also, the way in which identity falls under the control of history as it is the biggest component present in constituting it. The idea of the historical visuliser appears in EL Habib El Sayah’s novels to reveal many facts: In the second chapter, and through the analysis of some facts about the cores of ideology, the failure of communism, the causes of the death of Marxism and the torture to the group members, and the nature of the conflict between history and religion during the crisis are demonstrated. Then, the role of deconstructing the historical chain and presenting the imaginative history is done. This all is in a group of novels. Since identity is strongly linked to history, the third chapter illustrated the role of a group of big historical incidents in modifying its path and making it live different status of perturbation. The relationship appeared disconnected between two generations: the time of the democratic change that Algeria witnessed and appeared alien in the time of crisis witnessed also by the country. It also appeared contradicting itself and disconnected because of violence. Finally, the historical visualiser represented identity as dedicated to the national history especially the history of liberation. This shows that the history with its pros and cons remained an important reference to build identity.
