Abstract: This study highlights the richness and diversity of birds in urban areas, with a particular focus on the public garden Rachid Chaaboub (Mila province), considered an important habitat for several species. Monthly surveys conducted from January to March 2025 identified 15 species distributed across 4 orders and 11 families. In parallel, bacteriological analyses were carried out to assess the impact of bird droppings on human health, revealing the presence of 12 pathogenic bacteria. These findings underscore the role of birds in the transmission of certain diseases. Moreover, bird droppings were found to have a negative effect on the environment, particularly on soil quality and vegetation cover, highlighting the need for ecological management of these urban spaces.
