Abstract: This work aims to identify the floral biodiversity along the banks of the Béni Haroun Dam in order to understand their composition, distribution, and the environmental factors that influence them. To this end, several field trips were conducted in the spring of 2025, selecting seven study sites distributed along the dam. We collected 65 species belonging to 38 plant families, with the Asteraceae family being the most diverse, followed by the Fabaceae family. Statistical analysis revealed that the plants around the Beni Haroun Dam are grouped into two main vegetation types concentrated along the dam; a hygrophilous vegetation, fresh and partially shaded, and a xeric vegetation typical of garrigue or fallow lands, often disturbed (due to anthropogenic influence). According to the study, the distribution of these plants follows two main gradients: Hydric-xeric gradient / disturbance and gradient shade –light/ covered, closed –Open.
