dc.description | This study aims to analyze the legal framework governing the means of appeal in criminal judgments, focusing on ordinary appeals such as opposition and appeal, as well as extraordinary remedies, particularly cassation before the Supreme Court and the petition for retrial. The research adopted an analytical legal methodology by examining relevant legal texts, especially the Algerian Code of Criminal Procedure, and comparing them with judicial precedents and scholarly opinions. For data collection, we relied on official legislative sources, rulings from the Supreme Court, legal doctrines, and specialized academic theses. The study concluded that the Algerian legal system provides important guarantees for criminal justice through the diversity of appeal ethods. However, it also suffers from certain shortcomings, such as procedural complexity and delays in the resolution of appeals. This highlights the need for reforms, particularly in simplifying procedures, accelerating legal processes, and unifying judicial interpretations to strengthen public trust in the judicial system and ensure legal security. | en_US |
