Abstract: | This study aims to investigate metaphor and irony from a cognitive and pragmatic perspective, in order to understand how these linguistic tools are employed to achieve communicative and cognitive purposes. they are no longer mere rhetorical devices; rather, they have become two mental processes that are constructed and processed in the brin, extending to the pragmatic aspect and intertwining their roots with the context, where each plays a cognitive role in embodying knowledge.
