This dissertation, entitled "Worldview and the Conflict of Values in the Novel The Scent of the Wolf by Samia Ben Drais", explores how the worldview is shaped in the novel in the context of colonialism and its aftermath, through the depiction of conflicts related to identity, memory, the body, and values within a crisisridden society. The central research question of this study is: How is the worldview manifested in The Scent of the Wolf, and what are the manifestations of value conflicts within the narrative? From this main question, several sub-questions arise: In what way is the body portrayed as a colonized territory? How does the novel express the existential crisis experienced by the characters? In what framework are the narrative voice and character construction used to reflect these conflicts? What role does documentation play in reclaiming memory and resisting oppression? What are the forms of value conflict between tradition and modernity, colonialism and nationalism, masculinity and femininity? This research relies on the socio-narratological method, which combines narrative analysis with social context. Among the key findings: The socio-narratological analysis reveals that the novel does not merely depict reality, but critically reinterprets it, making it a literary discourse that carries a social and historical stance. The polyphonic narrative expresses diverse positions on major issues such as honor, homeland, the body, and justice, which gives the novel a dialectical nature reflecting a plurality of perspectives and the strength of its narrative structure. Through these interacting voices, the novel unveils a worldview shaped by the legacy of colonialism, where the conflict of values between past and present is embodied in a multivoiced narrative structure, underscoring the vital role of this interaction in shaping the novel’s content.en_US
