Abstract

This research aims to study one of the topics of Arabic grammar, which is "the dependencies" (al-tawabi') in Surah Al-Ahzab, and the connotations they provide to the Quranic meaning. It also seeks to clarify the opinions of grammarians and rhetoricians on the definition of dependencies. The importance of this research lies in understanding and revealing the significance of each of the four dependencies in Surah Al-Ahzab.Thus, we pose the following questions: What are the grammatical dependencies? What are their semantic purposes in Surah Al-Ahzab? And what is the extent of the impact of these dependencies on the Quranic meaning ?We introduced this research with a prelude in which we discussed the origins of Arabic grammar and its stages of development, along with an introduction to Surah Al-Ahzab and the reasons for its revelation. Following the prelude are two chapters: the first chapter presents the concept of dependencies in language and terminology, where we clarified and discussed each dependency. The second chapter is dedicated to the purposes of the dependencies, detailing each dependency, its benefits in speech, and the significance of each dependency, accompanied by an interpretation of the verses of Surah Al-Ahzab and the extraction of the dependencies found therein. The conclusion summarizes the main findings of this research.The methodology followed is the descriptive method based on an inductive study to trace the particulars of the subject, followed by an analytical approach to study the connotations and effects of the dependencies.
