Abstract

The theory of speech acts is among the basic concepts on which the pragmatic linguistic approach is based, which aims to study linguistic use and how to achieve linguistic communication between the interlocutors and understand their intentions, and the way they produce a communicative act or a verbal act within the framework of a concrete and specific verbal situation through which the meanings are dealt with. Semantics ignores it. Pragmatics in this sense is a communicative act linked to the referential function that puts the addressee in confrontation with the sender.
