Abstract

This research paper tacked the issue of teaching English in Algerian elementary education after including it for the first time in algerian among the subject matters to be dealt with in primary school particulary for third grade learners since it was taught starting from middle school .this study hence highlighted the way of teaching this language in addition.to how is it acquired by students .divided into two parts this a theoretical as pect which was devoted to teaching English for non.native speakers .the major theories strategies materials and media necessary in fulfilling the required educational purposes the practical part .however sheds lifht on a thorough description to the field study that was applied over two primary schools .an analysis to the curriculum in ddition to two interviews .The findings revealed that primary students face some difficulty in understanding as well as comprehending this subject matter ..Therefor. To overcomthese obstacles some solutions were suggested in order to facilitate the teaching.learning process.
