Abstract

This research dealt with a semantic study in Mahmoud Darwish's poetry "Ara ma orid", where the aim of the research was to extract the most important semantic fields present in this diwaniya, given that the semantic fields are one of the most important modern semantic theories that are concerned with studying words and placing them under one field, which has It is of importance in clarifying the similarities and differences between words. The semantic fields in Mahmoud Darwish's poetry were many and varied, but the most prominent of them were: the field of nature, the field of war, the field of animals, and the field of plants. Through these semantic fields, we tried to understand the poet's psychology, as it contained the types of semantic relationships (synonymy, antagonism,inclusion, the relationship of a part of the whole, and the relationship of dissonance).
