Abstract

This study, entitled "The Contemporary Palestinian Novel, A Study in Post-Colonial Literature, Raba'i Al-Madhoun" deals with post-colonial literature, in which the main problem is presented as follows: How did the formations of the colonial discourse come about in the narration of the fates of the concerto, the Holocaust and the Nakba of Raba'i Al-Madhoun? in which the novelist dealt with the most important Issues that concern the Palestinian people (identity, the problem of national belonging, civilizational conflict). As for this research roblem, it was divided into what is theoretical and what is applied, in which the post-colonial literary theory was put under the microscope. And the terms it implies: such as colonialism, imperialism, post-colonial literature, the most important issues and problems of the theory, as well as its pioneers in criticism and literature. As for the applied side of the research, it was devoted to analyzing the narrative of fates, with the aim of revealing the apparent and implicit patterns in the light of post-colonial theory. Through the following elements: identity, ego and the other, description of place and civilizational conflict. According to the cultural analysis method The study ended with a conclusion that sums up the most important results reached by the student, as we find the novelist Rabai Al-Madhoun, who succeeded in employing the principles and ideas of the theory. Because he was able to portray the Palestinian reality from a post-colonial perspective, an intense portrayal that carries connotations and meanings that serve this subject.
