Abstract

This study dealt with the topic of "the temporal and spatial space in the shock novel" by the great novelist "Mohamed Molshoul" known by his pseudonym "Yasmina Khadra", in which we dealt with the structure of time and space through two chapters. The first chapter: contains a theoretical part and an applied part, and it came under the label of the structure of temporal space in the novel "The Shock", in which we dealt with temporal paradoxes (retrospection and anticipation), and temporal rhythm (disrupting the narration and accelerating the narration), as well as frequency of its types (singular, repeated, similar). As for the second chapter, we dealt with the structure of the spatial space in the novel "The Shock", through which we touched on the types of places (closed and open), their indications, and the effect of places on the personality. The study is based on the structural approach and the mechanism of description and analysis
