Abstract

The historical novel is a form of the modern novel that expresses the historical reality and the turning points of society and man through the retelling of history that it takes as its material. within the narrative text.This esearch dealt with the invocation of history in the novel sakarat el tidjan by maamerhadjidj, as the latter was able to make a special space for itself in the Arab and international novel arena, because its pioneers were able to achieve special aesthetics in the novel form, and it also made an important step in the march of advancement to the ranks of immortal works with its diagnosis of the lived reality of ideological messages and aesthetic and artistic values. The novelist Maamerhadjidj sought to establish an integrated narrative xperience, so he was looking for forms through which to prove his identity, so history, with its parts, was a landmark, which made the novel open up to Wide Horizons, which are not celebrating history, but reusing it to discover and invest his artistic energies
