Abstract

Islamic banks have emerged to meet the urgent need for financial institutions that cater to the principles of Islamic sharia law, avoiding interest-based transactions common in conventional banks. These banks also work towards supporting and developing the stock market through various mechanisms. This study aims to shed light on the role of Islamic banks in stimulating and developing the Khartoum stock exchange using Islamic financial instruments, particularly sharia-compliant stocks and Islamic bonds (sukuk). It is evident that the success and development of this market depend closely on the diversity and evolution of Islamic financial instruments traded within it. By providing multiple alternatives for investors, the market’s performance is enhanced and distinguished.
