Abstract

This research paper aims to highlight the importance of digital Islamic banks and the necessary requirements for their establishment, focusing on "DIBALG" as a digital business model for an Islamic bank in Algeria. The model is capable of providing digital banking and financial services, taking advantage of the rapid advancement in the digital banking industry, which has gained increased attention due to the progress of smartphones in the new millennium. This digital application has been made available on the Play Store to offer some Sharia-compliant financial services. Initially, the digital bank focused on installment sales for cars and properties, as well as savings accounts. Additionally, it provides loans in accordance with Islamic principles, such as through Murabaha (cost plus financing), Musharaka (partnership), or Ijara (leasing) with a subsequent ownership transfer.
