dc.description.abstractEnglish language teaching at primary school in Algeria has just taken place in 2022/2023 school year. The introduction of English needs to be paralleled with studies and researches in order to find out if this process is successful or not. Henceforth, the current study attempts to investigate the Primary School Teaching of English as a Foreign Language. Specifically, it aims to determine the challenges that face teachers of English at Mila primary schools, and try to suggest some solutions to overcome them. For this to obtain, two research questions were raised: (1) What types of challenges and difficulties that teachers of English are facing in primary schools? (2) How do those challenges and difficulties affect the teaching of English at Mila primary schools? The research method adopted in this study is an exploratory method in order to discover the challenges and difficultiess for such initiative. Moreover, the study is based on a qualitative approach. In conducting the study, a questionnaire has been used as a main research tool. The questionnaire has been answered by thirty five (35) English teachers at primary schools in Mila. The emerging results confirm that introducing English to the Algerian primary schools has many challenges and it needs many requirements. Those challenges and difficulties are of different types including pedagogical and organisational ones.en_US
