dc.description.abstractThis dissertation aims to investigate the factors influencing the development of language learning strategies used in English writing. It attempts to investigate the potential factors that could influence the development of the learning strategies at the level of higher education. The research instrument used to conduct the present study was both quantitative and qualitative in nature, which is a questionnaire for a sample of 50 second year university students. The study was conducted at “Abdelhafid Boussouf” university center in Mila. The results indicated that primarily students have a limited use of language learning strategies in writing. In addition, the questionnaire revealed that students are influenced by three main factors which are language transfer, attitude towards writing and autonomous learning. The study ends with some suggestions and implications for future research.en_US
