Abstract

This study aims to clarify the concepts related to both endowment funds and sustainable development, as well as to highlight the role of the endowment funds so as to achieve a comprehensive sustainable development. Endowment is one of the most fundamental pillars of the sustainable development processes it is a development tool that contributes in achieving social solidarity and economic balance. The endowment role has been activated in several aspects, the most important of which are the endowment funds through the way these funds maintain and develop endowment funds to ensure the continuity of their developmental role, and directing the use of endowment funds in areas that serve sustainable development. It has been concluded that the endowment funds contributed to supporting sustainabledevelopment in Malaysia and Kuwait.
