Covid 19 was undeniably a turning point in the process of education. Its effects led to a radical change in the way of teaching and learning, which is a shift from a conventional classroom to remote education by the use of various modern technologies and platforms to save the academic year. This study aims to determine the various technologies which were used and investigate their efficiency in remote teaching during the covid 19 pandemic, the challenges that face both teachers and learners, as well as teachers‘ and students‘ attitudes towards using these technologies in online teaching. To meet the research aims, two research means were involved: a questionnaire was submitted to a randomly selected sample which is composed of 70 secondyear students of English from the whole population. Whereas, another questionnaire was submitted to a randomly selected sample which is composed of 10 teachers from the Department of English at Abd Alhafid Boussouf in Mila University. The results yielded by both teachers‘ and students‘ questionnaires reveal that the process of remote teaching in Mila university centre depends in most cases on Moodle platform. They also show that lack of explanation caused by the limitations of technologies and platforms used, in addition to technical issues such as bad internet connection and platforms breakdown were the main challenges that faced both students and teachers and led them to have negative attitudes towards remote teaching. In addition, EFL teachers and learners in Mila University Centre believe that face to face teaching can never be replaced by remote teaching.en_US
